What a total Cluster F. Losing an NBC game for ratings... poor crowd got short changed. Moving game to CNBC (stays on Peacock) - what was that 2.5 hours plus... Brutal.

Are these lightning delays a new things in last 10-15 years - I don't recall this BS. This is not sustainable for TV, they need a plan going into 2024. They just ruined 2 major network games.

Haley imploded coaching today going for long 4th downs. The game was one QB sneak from being a 7 pt gae, fumble at half instead and that was it.

But not taking the 3 points 2x at least was wrong and now its game over. Playing desperate after the half was crazy.

Having said that I don't think the city of Memphis deserves a home playoff after that 3:10 min delay. There's caution and there's way over much. Disappointed with Haley today,

Yes, they're a newer thing because we were tired of people getting hit by lightning. Especially since the promoters of these outdoor events can be held liable if they know lightning is in the area and does nothing to get people to find cover.

Lightning can travel about 10 miles from source to ground. So, any lightning within ten miles needs to be accounted for. Kid in Texas died in clear blue skies while a storm passed nearby, within 10 miles. That was one of the major impetus for it at the high school and collegiate level. The pros have just followed suit due to liability.
