I know that some players have gone from the USFL to NFL camps and back to either the USFL or XFL. However, have any players gone from the USFL to the XFL and back to the USFL? I was really surprised to see Scott and Sloter not end up back in the USFL.
Obviously, the intention of the USFL was to lock guys into the USFL with their contracts. I'm sure they were super annoyed when players tried out for the NFL and went to the XFL instead of back to the USFL. I guess I'm wondering if they're potentially freezing those guys out or if some players have made that path?
Thanks if you can give me some examples of guys that maybe got released or walked from the XFL and ended up back with the USFL.

I think the issue with Scott and Sloter is different than them being froze out, the league simply moved on so once they became available again the teams that had them in season 1 had already replaced themInvaders wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 5:37 pm I know that some players have gone from the USFL to NFL camps and back to either the USFL or XFL. Fair enough and I'm assuming you're right. Pittsburgh might want to track down Sloter's number soon though. hahaherns wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 5:48 pmI think the issue with Scott and Sloter is different than them being froze out, the league simply moved on so once they became available again the teams that had them in season 1 had already replaced themInvaders wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 5:37 pm I know that some players have gone from the USFL to NFL camps and back to either the USFL or XFL. I wouldn’t be against it, houston could probably use him as well. I wonder if we see Pitts rookie qb Connor Sampson get a shotInvaders wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:28 amFair enough and I'm assuming you're right. Re: USFL to XFL and back to USFL?
It won't happen with the Renegades a win away from playoffs and Stoops likes him, but a lot of people in the Arlington streams have noticed that Garrett McGihn's been playing too tight (and has ended up with a few needless holding penalties), not quite where he was last year. So if say he was released on the verge of the playoffs and showed back up in the USFL around midseason that'd be one. Or if say Destiny Vaeao, who missed a good chunk of the year on the reserve list, were released this week and did the same so he could get the snaps he lost.
Scott won't be back in the USFL since by the time of CFL cuts (if he doesn't make it) the USFL season will be almost done and he'll basically be down to competing with LWALWAs to essentially fill an injury spot for one of the last four.

We won’t see guys going from XFL to USFL this year, next year who knows. Off-season will be interesting

I guess it's been awhile since I've logged in because I just saw this. I haven't noticed them letting Sloter play in garbage time the past few weeks which has really surprised me. Definitely a decent backup in case anything happens to McGough, you'd think.
I'm happy Luis Perez won the XFL title, but I sure do miss him in New Jersey though (but New Jersey obviously misses him more)! haha.

From a league perspective Sloter would have been better at Houston or Pitts - no doubt. For that matter Ryan Willis at Memphis and Aquel Glass at NOLA would have been good too.Invaders wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:03 pmI guess it's been awhile since I've logged in because I just saw this.
