The first FOX intrasquad USFL/WWE squabble (on the west coast)
But 9:00 local start, that's a first.

Re: Ratings Week 4
What are your ratings predictions for Week 4?
A bit more competition from MLB, NBA/NHL playoffs and omnipresent soccer. Including some big cities at play at time of USFL games.
Some preliminary numbers in for Sat night floating around, about 1mm.
I'll go 1.1mm Saturday (Fox) , 800k Sunday (NBC), late night FS1 (250k).

NBC Sunday had 1.159 million viewers while the FOX prime time game scored 1.051 million viewers. The Friday Night game did 207k viewers in that 10 pm EST slot. 1/ <<

I don't want to say I cheated, but being the stats nerd that I am, I follow Google trends very closely. The USFL had trended a bit upward from the prior week with the 6PM Sunday period spiking through the roof. This shows one of 2 things, either people were really invested in the ending of the game, or they were anxiously anticipating the start of the local news. Most likely, it was a combination of the 2.

Re: Ratings Week 4
Here's the full Sports week. USFL (broadcast) beat all NHL sans 1 game. NBC beat ALL soccer. FOX beat all soccer sans 59k short of one UEFA CBS playoff game!
MLB SNB on ESPN with 2 mega markets LA/Chicago (1,781k) and 2 more Top markets in Boston/Chicago had 1,259k ahead of USFL, the rest were beat. These were mega market games and would expect to do well on ESPN/Broadcast and they did.

The weather wasn't great in NE Saturday and Sunday was Mother's Day.

Remember its only 6pm in one time zone. Either was a WINNER for USFL.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 10:35 am I don't want to say I cheated, but being the stats nerd that I am, I follow Google trends very closely. Re: Ratings Week 4
One other thing to note... The highest rated game of the week had minimal attendance.
Take note.
