I noticed that ESPN.com put up a story about the World Football League today.
A great read if you want to get a sense about how much more professional the XFL and USFL are than outlaw sports leagues in the old days. The sheer size of the blunders back then would be unimaginable in our micromanaged internet world.

Re: Fox EVP defines success for the USFL
No one can say that Fox hasn’t gone over and above hyping this league. I have seen USFL all over Fox platforms the last few days. I expect great numbers across both networks tonight. I also expect strong numbers tomorrow being Easter and all. People that watch tonight can get their families in to the games tomorrow. Viewership is sure to drop off heavily for tomorrow nights late game with it being on FS1 and against the NASCAR race. The afternoon game being on USA will drop heavily of course too. Good news for the non alt football fans is after this opening weekend they can start focusing and writing about how much viewership drops after week 2. You know they already have the headlines written.

This game will also end up overlapping with Nets/Celtics (probably why NBC went with the noon start in the first place), so it's been put to the test right off the bat.

A bit more than I expected honestly, hopefully they can maintain 1-1.5 million for network games. The higher the ratings the higher the ad rates. As it's a made for TV league they need to sell out their commercial allotment at a reasonable rate

How accurate are preliminary ratings? I saw someone claiming they aren’t accurate and I have literally no clue if they were just bull shitting lolTank55 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 1:55 pm https://twitter.com/the_markcast/status ... 1437533184

I think preliminary numbers are generally lower than the actual numbers. Could be wrong but I think the real ratings should be a bit higher.herns wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 2:19 pmHow accurate are preliminary ratings?
