This will be the first league to make a go since the spring FCS season last year. It wasn't a knockout hit or anything (especially being a one-time break-glass thing) but it was successful enough to get a semifinal game and championship on ABC. See if it can bring a few more of the fenceriders now that they've seen football in April and it isn't scary. (You could count TSL as sort of a rough outline of the USFL but from a league standpoint not really)
Besides, we need to keep stressing to them that the NFL offseason machine is just that, offseason. We can only have so many articles about the section of Mile High burning down like it's gonna keep the Broncos from hosting the Jets next week. Obviously Russell being up here watching sis in the regionals means it's going to be alright at the end of the day.

I think you have to go with TSL as the most recent "spring only" comparison. And I totally agree about "NFL" offseason being what it is. Which is why I would not be surprised if they sign a TV deal with XFL to fill in some programming time with an actual live sporting event. Once the NFL Draft is over its pretty quiet till Preseason. Early camp gets some but not much attention from fans.
