Welcome to our UFL Week 1 – Players of the Week – “Fan’s Choice” results. Voting began immediately at the completion of the final game on Sunday. We gathered over 1200 votes before the closing of polls at 5:00PM Eastern on Tuesday April 2, 2024. We thank all who voted!
Fans were asked to nominate any player they deemed worthy of the honor, in three categories: Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams. Winners below are based on the number of votes received for each player.
UFL Offensive Player of the Week:
#14 Chase Garbers, Quarterback, San Antonio Brahmas
The fans said:
- Garbers gave the Brahmas the offensive edge to get a win in their home opener. (RD)

- Garbers was a pleasant suprise for the Brahmas who started their season with a win. (Brahmas!)
Honorable Mentions
Matt Corral, Quarterback, Birmingham Stallions
- Went 12 of 21 for 201 yards, one touchdown and one interception. (Anonymous)

Alex Mollette, OL, San Antonio Brahmas
- Caught a pass for a touchdown, giving hope to large men everywhere. (Russel)

UFL Defensive Player of the Week:
#10 Reuben Foster, Linebacker, Houston Roughnecks
In UFL week 1, Reuben Foster made his UFL debut in a tough game against the Memphis Showboats. Foster recorded six tackles, intercepted a Case Cookus pass and recovered a Darian Victor fumble.

Kai Nacua, Safety, Michigan Panthers
- He is a beast. 11 tackles and a sack. He was playing the whole field. (Anonymous)
- Led the league in tackles. Nacua played lights out on defense was all over the field. (Anonymous)
UFL Special Teams Player of the Week:
#38 Jake Bates, Kicker, Michigan Panthers
In the last seconds of the game against the St. Louis Battlehawks, Bates kicked a perfect 64-yard field goal, but had it negated by a last second time out. When asked to attempt the game-winning 64-yard field goal for a the second time, he made it, and he made it look easy.
The fans said:
- He hit a crucial kick with mass amounts of pressure which set the UFL record and he drilled it twice in a row.(Jordan S.)
- They say he hasn’t kicked a field goal since high school, and he walks out there and kicks two 64-yard field goals. Amazing! (Anonymous)
