The Tennessee Titans are adding a running back to their roster, as the team is signing Jacques Patrick after a successful workout on Monday. According to his agent, the Titans are signing Patrick to a two-year deal. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Patrick, who played in college at Florida State and has spent time with five NFL teams (Bengals, 49ers, Panthers, Ravens, Broncos), is coming off a successful season in the XFL, where he played for the San Antonio Brahmas, finishing second in the league with 443 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Patrick played for the XFL Tampa Bay Vipers in the shortened 2020 XFL season.
Patrick has two games of NFL experience, both during the 2021 season with the 49ers and tallied two carries for 12 yards.
The 6-foot-2, 239-pound Patrick ran for 1,790 yards with 17 touchdowns with the Seminoles, and he also caught 47 passes for 356 yards and a score during his playing days with the school.
Patrick’s signing comes in the wake of fellow back Jonathan Ward suffering an injury during the preseason Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears. With Patrick in the fold, the Titans now have Ward, Derrick Henry, Hassan Haskins, Tyjae Spears and Julius Chestnut at the position.
