On March 12, 2024, quarterback Cole Kelley was waived by the UFL’s Memphis Showboats. Kelly started 8 games for Memphis during the 2023 USFL season passing for 1,534 yards, 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Quarterbacks Troy Williams and Case Cookus remain on the Showboats’ roster.
Kelley played college football at Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana. In 2021, his senior season with the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, Kelley threw 284 completions on 388 attempts for 3,634 yards, 31 touchdown and six interceptions.
Kelley signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent in 2022 but was released prior to the season.
On January 28, 2023, Kelley signed with the Memphis Showboats of the USFL, and played the 2023 season with the team.
