San Francisco – (9 February 2001) — Two undefeated teams square off at Orlando. Orlando undefeated at home defeated the Chicago Enforcers 33-29. Jeff Brohm completed 14 of 22 passes for 217 yards and four touchdown passes.
But former University of California quarterback Mike Pawlawski completed 31 of 47 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns against a much tougher defense than the Enforcers. Expect the same passing stats in this game, with a bit more touchdown.
Even though the Demons committed 15 penalties for 121 yards, they pulled through in the end with a winning drive that ended in Mike Panasuk, a high school teacher, 33 yard game winning field goal.
There was many penalties, none was really for unsportsmanlike related penalties. Many were off sides that voided many of Vaughn Dunbar’s brilliant runs. In week 1, Dunbar had 10 carries for just 10 yards against Los Angeles. And watching the game, I though he surpassed 100 yards.
Television
NBC has chosen to put the Demons-Rage game as their second game. It will not be televised in whole, but they will switch to the game for highlights.
Sadly, I think NBC has chosen their second straight boring game: Chicago Enforcers vs Los Angeles Xtreme.
