>>  Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur announces Alex McGough moving from QB to WR

Green Bay has its quarterback room all set up. Jordan Love begins his second season as the starter after leading the Packers to the second round of the NFL playoffs. Sean Clifford is the primary backup. Green Bay then selected former Tulane star Michael Pratt in the seventh round of the NFL Draft last Saturday. On Friday, Pratt, along with fellow seventh-rounder Kalen King, signed their rookie contracts with the Packers. The Packers also are looking at Jacob Eason at QB. They brought him in for a tryout this weekend.<<

Yeah what ever... UFL needs good QBs - come back in 2025!

Unfortunately NFL GM's think every college player they sign is going to be an all pro.   Then a year later they forget they ever existed and they become enamored with ANOTHER player from the college ranks.  They just keep cycling them through many times tossing away what are probably better players for depth.    Gone is the concept of signing the best players you can find and having a competitive camp atmosphere to see who's the best 55 are for this year.  McGough is probably better than these college kids but it doesn't matter.  the GM's got to have something to do to make himself feel important.

Some teams are worse at this than others.  It seems the more roster turnover the more losses you can expect in the next few seasons.

Well that's the thing... there's always a new crop of players. So NFL is always going to explore the newbies.

I can see McGough getting either another QB PS spot or not.  I don't see him getting a WR role.   The question is will he come to the UFL as a QB in 2025.  If UFL can get QB salaries 200k+ up to 300k that equals a NFL PS vet player.  AND playing in UFL does not prevent a player from double dipping by being on the PS in the fall.

You could see the DiNucci's, Perez's, McGough, McCarron's make a career off that etc... playing in UFL and can always have another FB job in the fall if not NFL (ie HS coach or College advisor)

If Alex is willing....why not?  Antwan Randle El msde a successful transition .....the Rams wanted Eric Crouch to do that, but Crouch refused.
