So we're past the CBB madness and the Masters ... now what's the local sports competition for the UFL teams? That's the 4 major sports and maybe MLS(?)... Here's a look
USFL Conference:
Birm - NBA- None; NHL- None; MLB - None; NFL - None, MLS-None
Houston- NBA- Rockets out; NHL- None; MLB - Astros NL champs; NFL - Texans, MLS-Yes
Memphis - NBA- Grizzlies out; NHL- None; MLB - None; NFL - None, MLS-None
Michigan - NBA- Pistons out; NHL- Red Wings out (again); MLB - Tigers; NFL - Lions and NFC-N champs, MLS-None
Playing now, other than MLB no local major competition, Redwings and Rockets missing playoffs can't hurt.
XFL Conference:
Arlington - NBA- Mavs in; NHL- Stars tops in West; MLB - Rangers WS winners; NFL - Cowboys, MLS-Yes
DC- NBA- Wizards out; NHL- Caps #8 in East; MLB - Nationals; NFL - Wash, MLS-Yes
SA - NBA- Spursout; NHL- None; MLB - None; NFL - None, MLS-None
StLouis - NBA- None; NHL- Blues out; MLB - Cards; NFL - None, MLS-Yes
Clearly Arlington is the most sports heavy in the league. BH benefit from Blues out of playoffs; Houston with the Rockets.
SA has nothing going on - lets show out SA!
Waiting to see what NHL and NBA national games will be this weekend.

Over 100,000 fans attended the Cardinals / Battlehawks / City SC games 4-6
37,328 at Busch, 40,317 inside the Dome, and 22,423 at CITYPARK
most poor attendance excuses on here are lame AF

Attendance is the least of my focus, I'm looking at it for impact on UFL positively or negatively mostly on TV viewership.
How does local news media and press cover the UFL vs what else is out there? Certainly that helps generate interest if they focus more on the UFL. With Detroit having no local NBA/NHL teams in the playoffs that works to the UFL's advantage.
What other sports choices do fans have in those cities? That's what thread is about.
StL has no NBA team and the Blues are not in the NHL playoffs so does StL media turn more to the UFL (besides the Cards) to fill the sports section? That's what you'd like to see in there and elsewhere.
To me the league got generally lucky with alot of UFL cities not strongly represented in NHL/NBA playoffs. Dallas being the opposite.
There's no doubt StL out performing. But the whole league can do better.
This thread was for local competition but NBA round 1 starts Saturday and you have NY Knicks on at 6pm (ESPN) and Lakers on at 8:30pm (ABC). That's tough competition for UFL on Fox Saturday 7pm. NHL w/e and Sunday NBA still TBD.
