I think the main reason is that it's better to get the general public's attention before you dump a bunch of information on them like that.

The teases for the merger announcement were quite effective.

They really want to push season tix sales - but its getting late.

One interesting note on the schedule, there is one instance where the league is going with NFL style regionalization:
Saturday, April 207:00 PMD.C. Defenders at Birmingham StallionsFOX*
Saturday, April 207:00 PMMichigan Panthers at San Antonio BrahmasFOX*
*Check local listings for market regionalization

This is likely due to Network scheduling conflicts BUT its a good test to see how well it works as league expansion may require more of these types of broadcasts.

ALSO - the network breakdown is slightly better than I expected only 1 FS1 and 1 ESPN2 games.  Broadcast 31 (including the Fox April 20 regionalized games).  Not bad out of 43 games.

  • 72% of all UFL games will air on broadcast television (ABC or FOX)
    • ABC                10
    • FOX                 21
    • ESPN              10
    • ESPN2            1
    • FS1                 1 <<

DC at San Antonio on Easter morning. That might be a tough one to attend, I wanted to see that matchup but I always celebrate Easter with Church and family. Guess I'll be watching on TV and may attend the DC at Arlington game on April 13th instead. Still plenty of games to choose from.

Looks like there's actually 3 weeks where Fox games may be regionalized.Week 4 (April 20 at 7 PM) DC at Birmingham Michigan at San AntonioWeek 5 (April 27 at 7 PM) San Antonio at Arlington Birmingham at HoustonWeek 9 (May 26 at 2:30 PM) DC at Memphis Michigan at Houston

On the plus side, ratings will probably be a bit higher with 2 games in these windows. On the negative side, that's one less game to watch. Remember, XFL 1.0 had an "A" and "B" game for its Saturday night games on NBC.

Yes - but looking back to 2022 the most watched single broadcast game was the NBC Easter Sunday game at 12pm delayed till 12:50 start due to rain.  That was 2.2 million - would have preferred Fox for the noon Easter game this yr, but ESPN should do well.
