"The designated members of the Officiating Department may correct obvious errors involving player safety at any point throughout the game, or any obvious error that may have a significant impact on the outcome of the game in the last five minutes of the 4th quarter or during overtime."
So did the offsides non-call late in the game not fit under "significant impact on the outcome of the game"? Or did it not fit under an "obvious error"?
It was close enough (to me it was obvious but I can see going the other way) not to be, and LP going deep may have inadvertently clinched it. If it stays on the ground (like during the later game) it's a non-issue. That's probably where the "non-significant" ruling comes from.
