Ben DiNucci to sign futures contract after Broncos' season finale on Sunday (unless he gets signed to the active roster), so no UFL for him.

Of course not a shock to those (raises hand) who had Stidham replacing Mr. Unlimited by this point, thus putting 'Nuc on the edge of an active roster in the offseason for the first time in a couple years (of course the ultimate slap in the face would be the Broncos bringing Drew Lock back while Ciara's toy looks elsewhere to ride--from her approved locations of course).

'Nuc has also indicated that he's exhausted from back to back seasons in one calendar year. So with the Dragons out for now anyway, it would only make sense to not put himself through another season this quickly.

Which reminds me of a handful of players who managed to play in the XFL1.0 and jumped right to arena ball and some even got CFL or NFL spots, basically playing the entire calendar year 2001.

He gets more money up in CFL and he's more suited up there playing that game as long as he did. I also think the competition is stiffer in UFL. He wanted to see about getting into NFL vis spring FB and it didn't pan out but he still loves playing so CFL makes more sense. I wish him well.

It's a move that is being questioned because there is fear it stunts the growth of Tre Ford, the Canadian QB who made the Elks super competitive last season and played well enough to be the starter in 2024, but Elks Head Coach and GM Chris Jones apparently doesn't see it that way.
